Within the framework of the transnational meeting in Satu Mare (Romania) organised as part of the project SpongeCity, participants attended a presentation of the EU-funded project Improving Coastal Areas Resilience to Climate Change Impacts and Setting up Guidelines for Sustainable Beach Stabilization and Management – ClimBeach.
The presentation was delivered by Anton Vrdoljak from University of Mostar, who introduced the main objectives of the project, ongoing research and implementation activities, as well as the expected scientific and practical outcomes. Particular attention was given to climate change impacts on coastal areas, sustainable beach stabilization approaches, and the development of guidelines aimed at improving long-term coastal resilience and environmental management.
In addition, the presentation highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation between academic institutions, researchers, and stakeholders involved in coastal protection and sustainable development policies. Participants were also informed about planned project outputs, including analyses, recommendations, and knowledge-transfer activities intended to support evidence-based decision-making in vulnerable coastal regions.
Representatives of University of Mostar, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy participating in the transnational meeting were Ass. Prof. Anton Vrdoljak, M. Sc. Tatjana Džeba and Ivo Karačić. The presentation materials were prepared by Prof. Maja Prskalo.
The presentation contributed to the dissemination and visibility of project activities while further strengthening international cooperation and the exchange of good practices among institutions participating in EU-funded initiatives.
