Implementation of distance learning at the Faculty of Civil Engineering

The Faculty of Civil Engineering started using the Moodle e-learning system in 2011. The number of courses has gradually increased over the years. Twenty-five e-courses were opened by 2019, and in 2019, transition to the university e-learning system SUMOODLE, today SUMARUM, was made. From 2012 the Faculty has been using the portal Predmetne obavijesti (Subject Notices) to publish notices and post materials, and where each course has its own page.
For all summer semester courses in the studies of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning, as well as Geodesy and Geoinformatics, e-courses are opened in the SUMARUM system. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the schedule of classes posted at the beginning of the summer semester also applies to distance learning. In addition to posting materials on SUMARUM, the teacher is required to complete the teaching using Google Meet or initially by chat if unable to use Google Meet immediately.

As of 27 March 2020, the percentage of students registered in the SUMARUM system is 91% in the study of Civil Engineering, 95% in the study of Architecture and Urban Planning, and 100% in the study of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, according to statistics.
When it comes to service usage statistics from 16 to 27 March 2020 through the Google Meet application, videos, chats and Subject Notices, the utilization by studies is the following: Civil Engineering 94%, Architecture and Urban Planning 92% and Geodesy and Geoinformatics 71%.
Several courses cannot use this type of teaching for objective reasons, since field classes will be held when conditions permit.
