Dear readers,

This is the 29th issue of e-Zbornik, the Electronic Collection of Papers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, which publishes papers focused on current and interdisciplinary topics in the field of technical and related sciences. This issue brings out scientific and professional papers related to the consideration of the hydropower potential of the Bednja River at the location Lovrentovec, Croatia, an overview of the genesis of the Zagreb Brewery from its foundation in 1892 to the present day, a comparative analysis of the character of Hercule Poirot and the phenomenon of supports settlement, a presentation of modern and contemporary architecture through the example of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, located within Maksimir, testing the integrity of piles using non-destructive methods, geochemical characterization of soil using XRF technology and its implications on geotechnical properties and analysis of ceramics as an important element of design and architecture.

In general, our journal is registered under ISSN number 2232-9080 (online edition) and has been assigned DOI: 10.47960/2232-9080. It is indexed in the databases EBSCO, Hrčak (https://hrcak.srce.hr/e-zbornik), DOI (CrossRef), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and ROAD, and activities aimed at including the journal in additional international databases are in progress.
The archiving and copyright policy is governed by the guidelines of the Sherpa organization (RoMEO service), maintained by the University of Nottingham. The journal is published in the open access mode, and the publication of papers is completely free of charge for the authors. Users are allowed to freely use the content of the journal (reading, downloading, distributing and linking) with mandatory attribution, in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons license. All papers undergo a double-blind peer review, and new issues of the journal are published twice a year – in June and December.

As the editor of this issue, I would like to extend my gratitude to the authors for their submitted papers and the reviewers and members of the editorial board for their exceptional cooperation in the production of the 29th issue. I also invite all interested authors to submit scientific and professional papers for the upcoming 30th issue of e-Zbornik, the electronic journal of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
